SPX is focused on providing solutions for the dynamic, strategic growth markets which can meet these demands. We’ve structured our organization in a way that allows us to focus our resources in the areas of global infrastructure, process equipment and diagnostic equipment.
The SPX Structure
SPX is comprised of numerous diverse businesses that are organized into four business segments:
Flow Technology — These businesses design, manufacture and market solutions and products used to process, blend, meter and transport fluids, as well as air and gas filtration and dehydration products.
Test and Measurement — The businesses in this segment serve a wide customer base including the aerospace, electrical, electronics and automotive markets, and municipalities. Our technology supports the introduction of new systems, expanded services and sophisticated testing and validation.
Thermal Equipment and Services — Among the products and services provided by these businesses are industrial cooling technologies and systems for use at power generation plants and other facilities. Some also provide heating, cooling and ventilation products and technologies for residential and commercial applications.
Industrial Products and Services — This segment is comprised of niche businesses that each have a technology position in the markets they serve. Many of these companies serve the aerospace, broadcast and power generation industries.
No one segment is devoted to a particular growth platform. Rather, they provide a structure for maximizing synergies among complementary businesses.
For example, it’s not uncommon for our businesses grouped under “Thermal Equipment and Services” to work together to develop solutions for customers developing new power generation facilities that require a multitude of components and technologies.
Our Businesses
Across the four segments are several business units. They develop, produce and market products and services, which customers across a variety of industries know, trust and seek out for their ingenuity and reliability. Like our segments, they aren’t focused on any one growth platform. Instead, they’re emphasis is on developing customer solutions across a variety of industries and applications.
