President and Chief Executive Officer

Eugene J. Lowe, III was named President and Chief Executive Officer of SPX in 2015. In this leadership role, he is responsible for driving the company’s overall growth and profitability as a diversified, global supplier of infrastructure equipment focused on the key segments of HVAC and detection and measurement. Gene joined SPX in 2008, holding multiple strategic leadership positions, most recently as the President of SPX’s former Thermal Equipment and Services segment. His tenure at SPX also includes roles leading the Evaporative Cooling business and the marketing, strategy and business development functions within the former Thermal segment where he focused on driving differentiation through technology innovation and operational initiatives. Prior to joining SPX, Gene held positions with Milliken & Company, Bain & Company, and Lazard Technology Partners. Gene earned his MBA with distinguished honors from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and his B.S. in management science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Gene is currently a director of Federal Signal Corporation.

 

Mark Carano, SPX TechnologiesMark Carano

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Mark A. Carano was appointed Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of SPX Technologies in 2023. Mark joined SPX from Insteel Industries, Inc., a publicly-traded manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications, where he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Before joining Insteel, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Big River Steel LLC, a private equity-owned manufacturer of steel products, from 2019 until its sale to U.S. Steel in 2020. Prior to Big River Steel, Mark served in senior management roles with Babcock & Wilcox, a publicly-held manufacturer of industrial technology, from 2013 to 2018, including Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller of their Industrial Segment and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Treasurer. Mr. Carano also spent 14 years in investment banking, serving in roles of increasing seniority at First Union Securities, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and BofA Merrill Lynch. He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Business School.

 

Jennifer Carpenter, SPX TechnologiesJennifer Carpenter

Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Jennifer Carpenter was named Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of SPX in 2024. Jennifer brings over 20 years of experience in human resources, holding positions of increasing responsibility with Honeywell International, including Vice President, Human Resources for Digital IT. She has built strong business partnerships and led the human resources function across a diverse set of businesses and global teams, including both short and long cycle businesses. She also played a major role in the integration and growth of a $3 billion+ acquisition, with more than 6,000 employees. Jennifer earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Human Resources from Central Michigan University.

 

Michael DalyMichael Daly

Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer

Michael Daly was appointed Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer of SPX Technologies in 2025. He joined the company in 2022 as Vice President and Global Head of Strategy and Business Development, bringing over two decades of global M&A leadership experience, along with expertise in organic growth strategy across numerous regulated industries. In his role, Michael plays a crucial part in defining and advancing SPX’s corporate strategy and expanding its footprint and capabilities in key growth areas through strategic deal making. Prior to joining SPX, Michael worked at Honeywell, where he served as Global Head of Corporate Development/M&A, Strategic Alliances, and Venture Investing for the Performance Materials and Technologies group. His background also includes various finance, strategy, and business development positions at Caesars Entertainment, GE Capital, and General Electric. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.

President of Global Operations

J. Randall (Randy) Data is SPX Technologies’ President of Global Operations. Randy joined SPX in 2015 and is responsible for developing and executing the company’s Business System, which focuses on standardizing critical processes, expanding margins and driving continuous improvement across the businesses. From 2015 until 2022, Randy led SPX’s process of completing its role and reducing risk in its legacy South African projects. Additionally, he has provided leadership in a number of growth opportunities and divestitures for the company. From 2022 until 2024, he was responsible for the company’s HVAC Heating platform, including Weil-McLain, Marley Engineered Products, and Patterson-Kelley. Prior to joining SPX, Randy spent more than 27 years with Babcock & Wilcox in a number of manufacturing, engineering and general management positions, including President and Chief Operating Officer for the Power Generation Group. Randy received a B.S. in Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Kent State University.

 

Cherée JohnsonCherée Johnson

Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Cherée Johnson was appointed as Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of SPX in 2024. Cherée joined SPX from Dentsply Sirona where, as the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel & Secretary, she held overall leadership responsibility for the company’s legal organization, including oversight of corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, litigation, government affairs, global business conduct, and sustainability, as well as for the company’s global quality and regulatory organizations. Prior to joining Dentsply Sirona, she served as General Counsel & Secretary at W.R. Grace & Company. She also served as a corporate legal executive at McCormick & Company, Inc., The Kraft Heinz Company, and 3M Company in the US and abroad. Cherée earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida A&M University. She also serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Advisory Board of the University of Minnesota Law School, and serves as a Board member and advisor for several privately-held organizations.

 

Eric KaledEric Kaled

President of Communication Technologies and Transportation

Eric Kaled became an executive officer of SPX Technologies in 2025 after joining the company in 2019 as President of its Transportation platform. In 2020, he expanded his role to include President of SPX’s Communications Technologies platform. Under Eric’s leadership, these platforms have experienced significant growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions, and he has built high-performing teams focused on product innovation and efficient execution. Before joining SPX, Eric held various positions at Crane Co., culminating in his role as Senior Vice President & General Manager within the Connectivity and Crane Payment Innovation Groups. Previously, he spent 12 years at Teradyne, Inc., where he gained experience in product and segment management across multiple roles. Mr. Kaled holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

 

Sean McClenaghan, SPX TechnologiesSean McClenaghan

Segment President – HVAC

Sean McClenaghan became President of the HVAC Segment in early 2024. He is responsible for the Cooling platform, including the Cooling HVAC businesses in the Americas, EMEA and APAC, Process Cooling, Refrigeration and Engineered Air Quality groups. He is also responsible for the Heating platform, including the Hydronics and Electrical Heating groups. Sean joined SPX as the President of the Global Cooling group in 2022. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Worldwide Corporation for the Americas business for 8 years. Before joining RWC in 2014, Sean spent over fifteen years in various strategic consulting and business development roles with McKinsey & Company, CHB Capital Partners, and Egon Zehnder. He began his career with DuPont holding positions ranging from Process Control Design Engineer to Plant Manager to Global Business Manager. He received an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Sean is a member of the Board of Directors for Sto Corp.

 

Darnell Smith, SPX TechnologiesDarnell Smith

Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Darnell Smith was appointed Vice President and Chief Information Officer of SPX Technologies in 2025. He joined SPX in 2022 as CIO, bringing over 30 years of Information Technology experience across various industries and organizations. Darnell is responsible for driving SPX’s information technology strategy, focusing on efficiency, security, user experience, acquisition integrations, software development, cybersecurity, and AI adoption. Before joining SPX, Darnell served as Vice President and CIO at Standard Textiles. He has also held leadership roles with the City of Raleigh, Elster Group, and DuPont. Darnell holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.

Segment President – Detection & Measurement

John Swann became President of the Detection & Measurement Segment in late 2022. He is responsible for the Location and Inspection, Aids to Navigation, Communications Technologies, and Transportation platforms. Prior to this role, he served as President of the HVAC Heating platform starting in 2013, with responsibility for Weil-McLain, Marley Engineered Products, and Patterson-Kelley. In 2015, he also assumed responsibility for the company’s Location & Inspection platform, including Radiodetection, Schonstedt, CUES, and Sensors & Software. Previously, John served as President of SPX Hydraulic Technologies and Vice President of New Venture Development for SPX. He joined SPX in 2004 as Director of Business Development for the company’s Industrial and Test & Measurement segments. Before joining SPX, he held consulting positions with both Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Andersen Business Consulting, practicing in the areas of mergers & acquisitions and strategy. John received his MBA with distinction from Kennesaw State University and his B.A. in history from Miami University. He also served on the board of the Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and was a member of its Audit and Investment Committees.
